SMALL AMOUNT OF TICKETS, INTIMATE VENUEClick for Facebook RSVP EventSaturday, 14 December 2013 - 8.30pm to 2am Hinckley Museum, Lower Bond Street, Hinckley, Leicestershire, LE10 1QU - £25 per person - Over 18s only EXCLUSIVE TO 2 HAUNTED VENUES ONLY. 2 Haunted Venues would like to introduce you to our 'Special' event at the Hinckley Museum. This night will be about the guests. They will have complete access to the building with the team supporting them. They can go where they want and use whatever equipment they want. This will be a very flexible night of spirit communication. The whole team love this building and it is full of positive energy. This location has proved time and time again that it is very paranormally active. The beauty of this night is that the guests can stay as long as they want in a particular room and can use the equipment setup for them. Its their night and with our years of experience the team will be there to help out if required. Come and see for yourself what a beautiful place this really is. Its your night after all... Brief History of the Hinckley Museum: Welcome to the Hinckley and District Museum, which is located in 17th century framework knitters cottages in historic Hinckley, the cradle and home of the hosiery trade, in the heart of England. The museum cottages themselves are the most complete example of half-timbered buildings remaining in Hinckley and date from the seventeenth century, being originally built as a farmhouse. They are of box-frame construction with a tie-beam roof, with brick infill panels of the late 1700s which replaced the original wattle and daub. By the nineteenth century there were three cottages, and these were bought by Colonel Clive Atkins in 1919 and restored and altered to their present appearance between 1927-8. The Hinckley and District Museum has been housed in the cottages since 1996. The craft of framework knitting once took place in the museum cottages. A reconstruction of a framework knitter`s cottage room setting can be viewed, and the frame on display is typical of the hand operated frames used in the domestic phase of the industry in Hinckley from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century. 2 Haunted Night: The event will begin with the team introducing themselves, tea and coffee are provided free of charge and then we will take you on a safety walk around the location. It will help you to familiarise yourself with the layout of the building, plus we can make you aware of any potential hazards once the lights go out. We will also talk about its wonderful history and the experiments that we have set-up in each room for you to attempt later on if you so wish but this is not compulsory. Trust us when the lights do go out and its totally dark it does look very different and it can be easy to get lost and disorientated. Do not worry though as a member of our team will always be there with you to give a helping hand. Once we have finished the tour we will be having a short tea break and then start the investigation as soon as possible to get our teeth into communicating with the spirits that still linger within its walls. With our resident Physical Medium Marc Brindley and eight Paranormal Investigators leading the way we will try various techniques to communicate with spirit from traditional media like Mirror Scrying, Ouija, Direct Voice, Trance and Table Tipping to modern day equipment like locked-off Night Vision Cameras, EVPs, Ghost Box, EMFs, Motion Sensors and much, much more. We do have a few experiments that you will not find anywhere else but we prefer to keep that a surprise until we host the event on the night. We are a very friendly, genuine team that respect the world of spirit and we will try everything in our power to get communication and physical interaction but like any group we cannot guarantee paranormal activity but we will try our hardest to get that proof you are after. Please come and join us if you dare on an intensely scary, terrifying night in the old museum that you will never forget… Event Instructions: If you would like to join us on this fantastic event you can do so by either paying in full, or paying a £10 deposit to secure your place with the remaining £15 to be paid a month before the venue date at the latest. Payments to be made through PayPal please on the 2 Haunted Venues website. Evening summary from Marc:
Hinckley Museum. Hi guys. Here we go again with one of my reviews of our investigations. I will try and keep this one shorter than Dudley Castle as that was like reading the Lord of the Rings (just without Frodo and a ring. Ha). The Hinckley Museum has always been a fairly quiet building. The spirits there subtle. It can be an active location but if you blink you can miss it. Last night was very different. We purposely kept the guest numbers very small as this was our last venue of the year. We wanted to keep this event very relaxed and chilled out. The whole purpose of the night was for the guests to take the lead and decide where they wanted to go. Usually we are very structured and organised with how we run our investigations but this was an 'open house' with no plan in mind. If the guests want to go on one particular piece of equipment and stay on it as long as they wanted to then they could. It was up to them. Freedom to move. For somewhere like the Hinckley Museum this is proving to be essential. With too many people in this location there would be noise interference as the sounds travel and the evidence subtle. The 2 Haunted team like to keep the numbers small and its a more intimate night of investigation.
Once the guests had arrived we all had a cup of tea/coffee and started with a very friendly easy-going chat. We all talked about various things and touched upon the supernatural and any questions about the way we run the night. I like this part. I love answering questions and I prefer being the 'host' to keep it very chilled out and have a laugh at the same time. We do 100% respect spirit and everything to do with this subject matter but we also like to have fun as well. As usual I can talk for England and have to be reminded that I need to hurry up and finish talking. Ha. Once I get going there is no stopping me. It was also nice that we had some new faces in the group of guests as I like to know what they think of us and some are veteran ghost hunters and been with many of the 'big boys' venue groups so it is interesting to get their feed-back. So once we had finished having a chat we then walked the building. The lights stayed on because we want the guests to a) get to familiarise themselves with the layout as in the dark it can be easy to get disorientated even in a small place like the Hinckley Museum and b) see what equipment we have set up for them to use throughout the night. We have a massive amount of equipment and some unique to ourselves like the Ouija table and Water Ouija. Remember this is a 'free for all' so the guests would need to know where everything is to make their minds up on what they wanted to use. Also we do a Health & Safety walk of the place.
After we finished looking around this very lovely museum we went back into the tea room and opened up in a 'circle of protection' and invited spirit to communicate with us. This is the responsible thing to do. Keep the guests as protected as we can in case of any negative energy (normally this is not an issue at the Hinckley Museum). We had one of our REM Pods on the floor in the circle and it did go off which was interesting as no one was near enough to interact with it. The guests then decided to venture into the cellar. One of the guests could not get down there due to it being hard to navigate the very crumbly stairs and tight corners and he went into the main exhibition room with two team members instead. I also went down into the cellar and had a surprise to say the least. Now I have to give a bit of background history of our previous event at Dudley Castle. It was a very active and amazing night (our best so far) and one of the strongest energies there was from a negative male called Jacob who claimed he had murdered someone and tried to burn the castle down. When the guests were settled in the cellar of the Hinckley Museum they then started communicating through our Ouija table and the activity started almost at once. As the Medium of the group I have had a 'bad feeling' all day leading up to the investigation but literally a couple of hours before starting the night someone in spirit was around me and he did not seem very positive, very friendly. I was uncomfortable with this and he did not make me aware of who he was and that is not a good thing in my book. So when we were down in the cellar and getting strong responses on the Ouija table I was very surprised to find out it was Jacob from Dudley Castle. Why was he here? In our last encounter he had forced my hand and I had to confine him with the 'white light' to keep him there but now he was free again. None of the guests at the museum knew about any of this so it was fascinating that they was confirming details that only Dudley Castle's historian would know. We had not fed any information to this group so that was very strange and we even tried to trick them with few red herrings to see what they would say and yet they answered everything correctly. It turned out that allegedly another Medium had gone down into the crypt of the castle and freed them. It was not just Jacob there was another three energies as well including one demonic. Luckily that one did not go to the Hinckley Museum or I would have been a great deal more worried. At Dudley Castle we had a very good Medium who came as a guest and he had said there were four in spirit in the crypt. Personally I only detected three, one that was demonic and two men connected with the castle. What was intreging about this was no one else really knew about this information so when that came through the Ouija table that was amazing evidence.
Throughout that whole session in the cellar we had some personal experiences as well from the guests with some feeling very cold around the legs (could have been a draft of course) and some getting very hot on the hands which was more unusual and we did a temperature check and there was a significant increase. There was also some bangs in the stone walls and the laser grid was drained of power. With such a good start it was going to be very exciting what would happen next. The male guest who had gone into the main exhibition room did also get some activity from bangs and tappings to footsteps and possible movement at the back of the room when no one else was there. Also we had a laser grid on the balcony and they saw movement breaking the beams of light up there as well. All in all a great beginning. After a quick break we then all moved into another room on the ground floor. In there we had our newest piece of specialist equipment the Water Ouija. I don't want to talk too much about this one as it is exclusive to us so do not want to give too much away. It was an interesting session and again some activity but not a strong as the other two rooms. Actually throughout the course of the night some rooms were more interesting than others and the activity levels varied depending where people were. Jacob did stay with us most of the night and this forced back the other energies usually assoiated with the building as he is so strong and aggressive. The spirits linked with the museum did not want to talk to us. One of the highlights for me was back in the cellar when one of our white finger-lights appears to have shot across the Ouija table and fell noisely onto the floor under a guests chair. Also another green finger-light seemed to vibrate and move on the table as though an electrical current was running through it. We are still looking through the video footage to confirm on that one but if we have caught it then it could be amazing footage. Details to follow on that one soon. Also the attic proved to be fruitful as there is a lady in spirit grounded there who used to play the piano when she was alive and she even gave us her name which was a first and some details that we are still trying to confirm with the museum's historians. She suffered with a mental condition and can be difficult to communicate with so this was very emotional and one of the guests attending actually deals with caring for people with these kind of conditions so it made sense that she would know how to speak to her even though she had passed to the world of spirit. Fascinating.
The room below the attic, what we like to call the 'red room' had the Water Ouija and Scrying Mirror in it and again there was some strange occurrences. Nothing on the mirror though but the Water Ouija did move and was strange to look at. No real communication as such but the planchette did twist and shift in the water, against the current which was odd. The guests seemed to have enjoyed the whole experience and it was a very fun and active night. We only had half an hour left so it was decided to hold one of my Séances. Through countless locations now I have had a very extreme reaction to these sessions of spirit communication including a guest being scratched across the face at Dudley Castle. Normally the Hinckley Museum is a very positive and uplifting experience but with Jacob with us and at the time a possible demonic energy it was a concern. Luckily through another Ouija session on the Séance table confirmed the second energy was not demonic which made me sigh with relief. Jacob did come through but those next 30 mins stayed fairly quiet apart from some tappings and occasional REM Pod and K2 activity. Mind you on a funny note the office is next to the second exhibition room where we was holding the séance and this small box room was out of bounds to ourselves and locked off. Phillip who is one of the members of staff at the museum was downstairs in the tea room cleaning up and when we called out loud around the séance table we heard banging noises and footsteps in the office. Luke who is one of the members of the 2 Haunted team and our cameraman was standing by this locked door and jumped about a meter away from it in complete fear. That was entertaining (sorry Luke). As it turned out Phillip had gone upstairs and went through the back door into the office and was moving around. Ha. We had to debunk that evidence but it was funny and a welcome end to the night.
I would as always like to thank the guests that went and they were all 'up-for-it' and that makes all the difference. You guys were amazing and a joy to investigate with. Also I would like to thank the team. Without you I would be just an incredibly good looking Medium walking around the museum on my own. Lol. Also a final thanks to the staff of the Hinckley Museum for always supporting us and washing up our cups when the night is over Your great. Lovely building, fantastic paranormal activity and a wonderful end to 2013. Roll on next year and we do it all again...
